We should also like to take this opportunity to invite you to visit us at our bookshop in Thornton le Dale, near Pickering, on the edge of the picturesque North Yorkshire Moors National Park. We also carry an interesting stock of books on the first floor, St Crispin Antiques Centre in the wonderful East Yorkshire market town of Beverley. Both locations are well worth a visit!

We are booksellers who have been dealing in old, out of print and scarce books in the East Riding of Yorkshire for more than a decade. More recently, we have expanded into the North Riding and now have a shop in the picturesque village of Thornton le Dale on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

We do not specialise in one specific area but our constantly changing and expanding stock reflects our own interests and favourites. Country books, military, children's, illustrated and topography are well represented and we also carry a large stock of observers books. Our transport section includes: trains (we are close to the NYM Steam Railway at Picketing), cars, motorcycles and trams, buses and trolleybuses (we are situated only 50 metres from the classic car museum and sales forecourt in Thornton le Dale). Railway modellers are also well catered for (books, pamphlets, etc.).

Our general stock includes: Folio editions, Modern Firsts and Art Books, Heraldry and theatre are also well represented. The usual selection of Literature, Poetry, theology, biography, humour, hobbies and interests and sport and much more is available and reasonably priced.

We also stock thousands of nearly new and older collectable paperbacks: crime, thrillers, sci fi, potboilers, etc.

Our Thornton Dale shop also stocks an extensive quantity of Denby Greenwheat, pictures and prints, clocks, mirrors, ceramics and small antiques and collectables. Indeed, something for everyone!

We thoroughly enjoy meeting customers, regulars and newcomers. You will always be made welcome.

We also buy books. Single items and small collections to complete libraries. We will travel anywhere in the UK. And we are seldom beaten on price. Call us first, you will need to go no further. We have references from satisfied clients whose estates we have cleared, discreetly and sensitively. We also provide valuations for probate, insurance purposes, etc.

During the summer months, Easter Holidays right through to the end of September, we are generally open 7 days a week, 10am until you finish browsing. We never rush you out.

During the winter months we are usually open 4 or 5 days a week. However, please phone before making that special visit. We hate to disappoint.
